A graduate of the Paris Medical School, Dr. Bamdad completed his internship and residency at Michigan State University. He completed his cardiology fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco and his interventional cardiology fellowship at Wright State University.
Mehran Arabpour, D.O., F.A.C.C
Dr. Arabpour is an honor graduate of NOVA Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. and completed his residency at Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Stratford, N.J. where he was chief medical resident. Dr. Arabpour has received extensive training in cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, stenting and other cardiac procedures.
Pamela Gardner, D.O., F.A.C.C
Dr. Gardner is a graduate of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine where she also completed her cardiology fellowship at the Deborah Heart and Lung Center in New Jersey. Dr. Gardner's main focus is congestive heart failure and women's cardiovascular health; including high-risk pregnancies.
Paul Anike, D.O., F.A.C.C.
Dr. Anike is a graduate of Michigan State University College of Medicine and completed his residency at the Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc, Mich. Dr. Anike has received extensive training in clinical cardiology cardiovascular disease. His subspecialty is nuclear and interventional cardiology.
Venkat Battula, M.D.
After graduating from the Guntur Medical College in India, Dr. Battula completed his residency at the State University of New York Health Science Center in Brooklyn. Prior to joining the Heart Institute, Dr. Battula was a cardiology fellow and clinical assistant instructor at the New York Health Science Center in Brooklyn.
Ebere M. Ugwanyi, M.D.
Dr. Ugwanyi received his medical degree from University of Ibadan in Nigeria. He completed an internal medicine internship and residency and a cardiovascular disease fellowship at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C. Dr. Ugwanyi is board-certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease.
Ronald R. Magee, M.D.
After graduating from the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Mo, Dr. Magee completed his residency in general surgery at Rhode Island Hospital. He then completed a fellowship in general vascular surgery with Harvard University at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Magee is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery.
Charles J. Love, M.D.
Dr. Love graduated from the University of Pittsburg. He completed a residency with the department of medicine at The Ohio State University and a fellowship with the division of cardiology at The Ohio State University. Dr. Love has extensive knowledge is the areas of pacemaker and ICD implantation.
Philip S. Perona, M.D.
Dr. Perona received his medical degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He completed an internship at the Los Angeles County-University of Southern California Medical Center and served his fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Perona is board-certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular diseases.
J. Robert Kuhns, M.D.
Dr. Kuhns graduated from Hahnemann Medical College, and continued there by completing his internship the following year. He received his residency from the University of Connecticut Health Center. Dr. Kuhns was a Cardiology Fellow at The Hartford Hospital.
Cardiothoracic Surgeons
Ronald Pohl, MD., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Pohl graduated from the Wright State University School of Medicine in 1985. He completed his general surgery residency at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati and his cardiothoracic residency at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri in 1992. Dr. Pohl has also been in leadership positions in the development of minimally invasive endovascular procedures in this area.
Farzin Fotouhi, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Fotouhi received his undergraduate and medical education from Tufts University in Boston, Mass. and his M.D. degree in 1991. He completed his surgical internship in 1992 and surgical residency at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, affiliated with Tufts Medical School, in Boston, Mass. in 1997. His cardiothoracic surgery residency was completed in 1999 at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, followed by thoracic oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York in July 1999.
Alexander Nagy, M.D.
Dr. Nagy received his M.D. degree from the University of Tg-Mures, Romania. He completed his surgical internship at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York and his surgical residency at Cabrini Medical Center, affiliated with Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, in 1998. His cardiothoracic residency was completed at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, in 2000. He also received additional training at L'Hospital St. Gatien in Tour, France. Dr. Nagy has special interest in coronary revascularization, mitral valve repair, minimally invasive thoracic surgery and
endovascular procedures.
Jose Rodriguez, M.D.
Dr. Rodriguez received his medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He completed a general surgery internship and residency at the University of Puerto Rico; a general surgery residency at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, N.C.; and a cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at the University of Alabama in Birmingham, Ala.
