The 18th Annual Meeting of the Lima Memorial Foundation was held on Thursday, March 19, 2009. Presided over by Chairman Jim Meredith, the Foundation Board of Directors conducted a shortened business meeting, re-elected directors to new three-year terms, elected two new board members and elected three officers.
The Honorable Justice Robert Cupp, Justice of the Ohio Supreme Court, was the special guest speaker. Board members, guests, senior administration and staff were present to hear the positive news of 2008.
Re-elected to new three year terms were; David Huckeriede, Sharon Moening, William Timmermeister and Eric Wiechart. New directors elected to the Board are Sandy Clark, President, Lima Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and Scott Shutt, Vice President and General Manager, Kewpee Hamburgers. Elected to officer positions for the current year are Jim Meredith, Chairman; Eric Wiechart, Vice Chairman; and Barry Rydell, Secretary-Treasurer.
Founded and incorporated in the State of Ohio in 1991, the Lima Memorial Foundation has supported the needs of the Lima Memorial Health System for more than 17 years. The purpose of the Foundation is to stimulate major voluntary private support from patients, physicians, friends, corporations, foundations, staff and volunteers. Over the years since its inception, the Foundation has raised in excess of $15 million in both restricted and unrestricted contributions. The Foundation assists the Health System in raising funds and enhancing permanently restricted endowment.
